Turning In

Turning In

Hi thrive mamas

I’ve missed you

I’ve missed writing

I’ve missed encouraging and being encouraged

So where have I been?

Learning lessons

The last 3 years there have been waves upon waves crashing in on me

Waves that threaten to drown me and waves that have lifted me high

And a few months ago it all just got to be too much and I stepped away from LOTS of things

Things I loved, people I loved

Do you ever do that?  Do you ever just shut it down?

There are just times ALL THE THINGS good + bad bring me to the point of turning inward

And that’s fine, right?

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another…”  Hebrews 10:24

That’s awkward

I am the “some” to whom this author is referring

I am in the habit of “not meeting” and getting selfish

I have to make meeting intentional and I have to reach out on purpose to show people I love that I love them.

So now I need grace, and thankfully I have a heavenly father who lavishes it on me.

I need to make a plan for getting my people back, for making meetings a priority

I have one day a week dedicated to meeting friends for coffee, I have made standing YMCA dates to get healthy {in more ways than one}, and I have written in my schedule every day to send a text to at least one person that I am thinking of and desire to encourage.

It’s a good start I think.

How do you keep your friendships close when you feel like pushing away??  Do you have to schedule meetings, or does that seem weird to you?

I am so happy to be back in this sweet community friends!

In Love,
