You have a lot going on and it seems very little time to get it all done in. You feel stressed, overwhelmed, and pulled in way too many different directions. Though you recognize how much better you feel after prayer, you often rationalize that you don’t have time for it. Could it be however that this one element could help your life in a profound way? Is it possible that the one thing lacking from your life is in fact the power of prayer?

I talk to myself all of the time in my car and I am sure the people driving next to me think I am losing my mind, but in actuality, I am just trying to be in constant conversation with God. Whether expressing gratitude or asking for help in a time of need, this constant conversation with him gives me so much peace. 

So many of us tend to put off our faith when the going gets tough. We feel stressed or that we’re not giving 100% of ourselves to everything, and we look at this as a personal failure. Rather than giving it over to God and trying to find strength through our daily prayers, we try to find solace in things that don’t really matter. Though it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and overtaken by stress, the key to success and balance amidst a hectic lifestyle is in fact prayer!

Don’t believe it? Commit to praying each day for a week, (or if you already do that, commit to more constant communication throughout your day with him) just setting aside a few minutes at a time to do so. See how much better you feel, and see how balanced your life feels. It’s not just your imagination for the power of prayer is real, and when you turn to God in your time of need you will receive. So with all of the other things that you have to do, learning to make prayer a priority in your busy lifestyle will pay off tremendously.

So to really understand the depth of just how powerful prayer can be, here are a few of the ways that it can help. Prayer can lift you when you’re down, or simply help you to make sense out of chaos. Here are some amazing ways that the power of prayer can bring balance and happiness to your life in a profound new way.

You get away from the distractions and focus on what really matters: This is your time to unwind and to get away from the very things that are causing you stress. This is like meditation but even greater than that. This is a time to relax, unwind, and focus on what is truly important. Though you may not think that you will be able to let go of the distractions, it’s amazing how you can easily get pulled into a great prayer ritual—and thus let go of the things that are holding you back and are negative in nature.

You give over your stress and anxiety to a greater power: You are essentially letting go, you’re giving your stress away to a greater power that can really and truly influence things. Though you may not remember how good this feels, you will quickly come to appreciate it again. You are giving it to God and this allows you to let go, to relax, and to focus on living a better and more balanced life. So not only do you lessen your stress, but you give the important things over to God to help you handle.

You turn to your greatest support system and therefore can figure out what to do with a clear head: You can make sense of things and really help to get the wrong things out of your head. You have greater support and love in God than by anybody else in the world. So this is your chance to get the support that you need, and it’s all accomplished by deeper prayer and a wonderful approach to life moving forward.

You remember what’s truly important and can let go of the little things: Sometimes we all need a little tap on the shoulder and reminder of what really matters in life. You can gain perspective in a much needed way when you integrate daily prayer into your life. You no longer have to stress about things that really aren’t that important. This is your chance to gain perspective and to let go of the things that don’t matter at all.

You live a truly balanced life and are therefore a happier and healthier person because of it: With such a focus on a healthy lifestyle, your mental and emotional health matters just as much if not more. So that being said, as you work to create healthier habits that should include prayer. This is your way of achieving better mental health, more spirituality and a grasp of your faith that you may have been lacking. Make this a way of nurturing your soul, and ensure that it remains a priority always.
