Week of Prayer: Day Five

Week of Prayer: Day Five

During difficult times, we struggle to find a way to make sense of things in our hearts. We struggle to explain to our children why things happen. We want to come alongside you and help you find a peace in your heart and pray peace and understanding for your children.

We want to point you to the gospel, because Jesus is always the answer. It’s our desire to see the body of Christ come together and show the world what unity and love looks like, and we believe this may begin in the lives of our children. Let’s mend our hearts and create a safe space to pray and walk with our families through hard times.

DAY FIVE: PRAYING FOR HOPE

PRAYER ONE

REFLECT ON THIS SCRIPTURE
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

SAY THIS PRAYER
Lord, thank you for the victory you won on the cross. You didn’t shy away from the hardships of this world, but instead, took them onto yourself so that you could overcome them once and for all. I praise you because now, I get to share in that victory! When sorrow comes, will you give me peace as I trust in You, the God who has overcome on my behalf.

PRAYER TWO

REFLECT ON THIS SCRIPTURE
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:31

SAY THIS PRAYER
Father, thank you for offering me the ultimate form of protection: the sacrifice of your Son. No words that people say, no trials that may come, no weakness in my flesh can undo what you did for me on the Cross. Help me to live courageously for you, knowing that the God of the Universe is for me.

PRAYER THREE

REFLECT ON THIS SCRIPTURE
I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!”
Revelation 21:3-5a

SAY THIS PRAYER
Lord, I worship you because you are the God who makes everything new. You are Creator and King, and you are making a home for me with you in eternity - what an incredible inheritance. When my heart is overwhelmed by the circumstances around me, will you fill me with hope in the promise of this glorious future. Give me boldness to share this truth with others, that I might call them along with me into this beautiful inheritance.
